The Gardens at Raven's Wing B&B

Wende began the Raven’s Wing gardens 44 years ago with the gift of a dozen purple bearded Iris from her father’s garden.  That lovely gift can still be seen in June in the many Iris descendants of those first ones.  And those first flowers were the beginning of a very slippery slope into flower garden addiction! 

Over the years, the flower gardens have eaten most of the lawn and now host thousands of spring flowering bulbs and summer perennials.  Many perennials are especially planted for birds and pollinators with hummingbirds and monarch butterflies coming to feast on the offerings.

Something is blooming in the gardens from spring through fall with spring bulbs giving way to June Iris and Peonies, July Lilies and late Iris, Monarda, Daisies, Black Eyed Susan, Yarrow, and into fall with Phlox and annuals like Marigolds, Zinnias, Spider Flowers, and Petunias.  Many flowers bloom all summer and there is almost always something for a bouquet for the rooms.

The back yard patio has Zinnias, Marigolds and potted flowering annuals.  It is lovely to sit there and enjoy the private garden that you only have to share with birds and chipmunks!
